Scientific Diving International has been involved in survey work and research on invasive zebra mussels (Dreissena polymorpha) in Lake George, NY for a number of years. We have recently been working on the invasive Asian clam (Corbicula fluminea), a clam that has extended its northern range into lakes in upstate New York as well as lakes in the Finger Lakes region of New York. Our scientists, along with those of InnerSpace Scientific Diving and scientists and students of the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institution's Darrin Fresh Water Institute have been heavily involved in survey work and research involving basic biology, control, and eradication efforts for the Asian clam.
